Role Description
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Translate client needs into actionable project plans, ensuring that tasks are effectively delegated to team members.
- Provide strategic direction for data-driven analysis and model development, aligned with client objectives and company mission.
Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of data scientists, fostering an environment of growth and collaboration.
- Manage team members on an HR level, including performance evaluations, promotions, and addressing disciplinary matters.
- Oversee workflows, ensuring adherence to best practices in collaborative coding and version control (e.g., GitHub).
Technical Oversight:
- Critically review the team’s work, ensuring code quality, analytical rigor, and methodological robustness.
- Provide hands-on guidance for advanced coding and data analysis in Python and/or R.
- Ensure compliance with company standards for reproducible research and transparency.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for major multinational donors in this project, building trust and ensuring alignment of deliverables with client expectations.
- Represent the company at international conferences, workshops, and donor meetings, showcasing thought leadership in data science and labor economics.
